Purpose of Bowl Games

The purpose of the bowl games is to serve in lieu of playoffs for the Eagle Bluff Conference. As you may know, Youth Sports Foundation (YSF), our governing body, does not involve itself in post-season play of any kind, nor tournaments, and that includes playoffs. It is up to all of us to organize post-season play if we are interested in doing so. DIFL (Dubuque teams) are happy to host this event for FREE. Instead of multiple levels of playoff games like in the past, each team in the Eagle Bluff Conference can play just one post-season “bowl game” against a team of similar capability if they choose to participate. This will shorten the post-season play to avoid burn-out, but still provide kids with a meaningful post-season experience. And who wouldn’t want to play in a “bowl game” at a great facility? We are confident this will be a great event for all involved.
