Respect and Sportsmanship

As we approach the end of the regular season and the post-season bowl games, now is a good time for us all to remember the code of conduct to which all players, coaches, and parents, agreed at the beginning of the season. Dubuque Independent Football League, and its board of directors, under the authority of Youth Sports Foundation, do not allow players, parents, coaches, or other volunteers, to make disparaging remarks, or in any other way harass or disrespect individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity, origin, religion, creed, sex, gender, age, size, shape, ability, or any other difference between human beings. Anyone who breaks this rule is not welcome at our games, practices, or any other activity related to our organization. This is a zero-tolerance policy. There are no exceptions or second chances. Furthermore, all players, parents, coaches, and other volunteers, are encouraged to intervene when any such behavior is witnessed. As a community, we will work together to insure that no one within our organization suffers prejudice, bigotry, or hatred in any form. Going forward, please do not hesitate to report offensive behavior by sending email to or calling (319) 382-5155.

On a more positive note, let us take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to one another. We will work together to create a safe and fun learning environment where all Dubuque area children may learn the fundamentals of American Gridiron Football and cheerleading with an emphasis on team spirit and good sportsmanship, loving each other as fellow human beings in the process.

If anyone has questions or comments regarding these values, please do not hesitate to contact us.
