DEADLINE EXTENDED: Last registration and equipment sizing event before $25 late fee added is July 6

DIFL has added a registration and equipment sizing event to the schedule. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. This will be the last sizing and registration event before DIFL begins assessing a $25 late fee the following day.

All who attend this final registration and equipment sizing event are encouraged to register online in advance to streamline things.

After this final event, the registration fee increases by $25 to $175. (Current registration fee is $150.) Please be sure to register as soon as possible, as late fees cannot be waived.

Last Chance to Size Players and Register In Person Before July 1 Price Increases

The last sizing and registration event before fee increases will be Friday, June 24, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Green Acres Storage, 2126 Holliday Drive, Dubuque. All who attend Friday’s event are encouraged to register online in advance to streamline things.

After July 1, registration fee increases by $25 to $175. (Current registration fee is $150.) Please be sure to register as soon as possible, as late fees cannot be waived.

Please note this is the last sizing and registration event scheduled at this time. Demand may warrant an additional sizing and registration event before the season starts, but we cannot say for sure if and when that will happen. So please make every effort to register and have participants sized before the end of Friday’s event.

Last Day for Cheer Uniform Sizing and Cheer Registration Is June 11

Attention all cheerleaders and parents. The last day for cheer uniform sizing and cheer registration is Saturday morning, June 11, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Football participants may also be sized for equipment and register at this event.) Because of the lead time required to order cheerleader outfits, cheerleaders have one less date for sizing and registration than football players. Any cheer participants who have not yet attended a cheer uniform sizing and cheer registration event should be sure to attend this last opportunity.

What about physicals?

DIFL volunteers are frequently asked, “What about a physicals? Aren’t they required?” A physical examination (a.k.a. “sports physical”) is not required for participation in the DIFL or YSF. In the past, DIFL used to require physicals, but physicals are no longer required beginning with the 2016 season. A physical examination by a qualified health care provider is always a good idea, and DIFL encourages all parents to insure their children receive routine preventative health care that is recommended by their family physician—it is just not a requirement for participation in the DIFL or YSF. If you have questions about your child’s health and how it relates to participation in youth football or cheerleading, please consult your family physician.
